New album “Bohuslän” out Feb 14

A collection of traditional music from Sunniva Brynnel’s home area, province Bohuslän in Sweden. With Sunniva on accordion and vocals, as well as Nordic master musicians Timo Alakotila on piano and Hans Kennemark and Jenny Gustafsson on the fiddle.

Polska I G Moll Efter Maria Sohlberg is the 1st single from Sunniva Brynnel's forthcoming album, "Bohuslän", to be released on February 14th, 2025.

The new single, out now, is a tribute to the important tradition-bearer Maria Sohlberg (1886–1973) from Foss, who brought some beautiful and moody minor tunes into the folk music of Bohuslän.

The legacy of Maria Sohlberg has been a big source of inspiration for accordionist Sunniva Brynnel and there are several other pieces from Sohlberg on the forthcoming album.

Pianist Timo Alakotila brings a sparkly, colorful harmonic framework to this fiery piece.
